Zara Tindall jokes with Prince George after poking him with flag leaving Kate laughing

Prince George and Princess Charlotte stayed up past their bedtime last night as they attended the Queen's Platinum Party at The Palace and had lots of fun with their cousins.

George and Charlotte sat in the royal box, and Zara Tindall was seen having some playful fun with the future king.

As he watched the musical performances, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara leaned forwards from the row behind and cheekily poked him in the ear with a Union Jack flag.

Princess Charlotte, seven, and Kate Middleton, 40, saw the funny side of the prank and were pictured giggling as they watched his reaction.

The Cambridge family are very close to Zara and Mike Tindall, with Zara one of Prince George's godparents.

During the Queen's surprise appearance with Paddington bear, George and Charlotte were spotted laughing at the monarch's admission that she keeps an emergency stash of marmalade sandwiches in her handbag.

The Queen and the famous bear met for a chaotic cream tea at Buckingham Palace in a special, secretly-pre-recorded sequence played at the start of the televised BBC's Platinum Party at the Palace.

The duffle-coat wearing bear told the Queen how he ensured he always had his favourite treat on him just in case, lifting up his red hat to reveal his snack.

The Queen responded by saying: "So do I," before opening her bag and declaring: "I keep mine in here", before showing her very own ready-made supply of the bread and orange preserve staple, adding: "For later."

Princess Charlotte was clearly delighted at the revelation.

Thousands of Brits gathered outside Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Platinum Party at The Palace - but Her Majesty stayed at home.

And granddaughter Zara Tindall said earlier that the Queen was enjoying the celebrations at home in her "comfy clothes" after she missed yesterday's Epsom Derby.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stayed home for Party at the Palace after celebrating daughter Lilibet's first birthday privately.

The couple are keeping a low profile this weekend after the Queen reportedly said there were to be "no dramas" during the Jubilee.

Harry and Meghan have so far only made one public appearance during the weekend.

They arrived for yesterday's service of thanksgiving hand-in-hand.

Meg and Harry also didn't stand beside Her Majesty on the palace balcony as the four-day bonanza got under way on Thursday.

However, both watched Trooping the Colour from a window at the Major General's Office.

Roman Kemp, the DJ and son of Spandau Ballet favourite Martin Kemp, presented the festivities along with fellow DJ and presenter Clara Amfo.

Famous performers included the likes of Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Craig David, Diana Ross, George Ezra and Alicia Keys.

It was the second to last of the major Jubilee events, with the Platinum Jubilee Pageant taking place today, Sunday, June 5, 2022.

The Queen's diamond jubilee celebrations in 2012 saw big names like Madness, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue perform in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
