A black oversized leather jacket has gone viral on social media after influencer Molly Mae wore it last year. After a successful sell-out, the retailer Zara has only just restocked it and shoppers are going wild. People are calling it the 'Molly Mae effect' as so many people have been spotted wearing the stylish jacket.
We all know how hard it is to keep up with the latest fashion trend, so when the retailer sold out last year, people were left in a frenzy searching online to find one. The former Love Island star was seen wearing the jacket back in April 2022 and confessed that she hadn't taken off the jacket since buying it.
The influencer also recently welcomed her new born daughter Bambi into the world while her partner Tommy Fury was training for the fight against Jake Paul - which he won on Sunday (February 26). Ever since the pair featured on ITV's Love Island, where they met, they have gained millions of followers and are loved by many.

The faux leather biker jacket is described by the retailer as 'a distressed effect jacket with a lapel collar and long sleeves.' It also has front zip pockets, crossover zip fastening at the front and a belt at the hem. Zara shoppers are calling it 'perfect' and have rushed to their nearest store to get their hands on it.
@bysiss said 'Zara you did it again! The Molly Mae Jacket' alongside a video of her wearing it in store. She captioned her TikTok: 'Cool jacket style a la Molly Mae @ZARA run cause it's a winner.'
@Mollyolivia__x also shared a video of her unboxing her 'perfect' Zara jacket. She said: 'pov: you get the viral molly mae jacket in black', adding, 'thank you @ZARA for creating the perfect leather jacket.'
@yanarbk on TikTok filmed herself wearing the stylish cropped jacket and captioned the video: 'The best cropped jacket.'
@bychloeclothing also flocked to her nearest Zara store to get one of the jackets. She said: 'Come with me to find the Zara faux leather jacket.'
Molly's post in April 2022 said: "Maybe I have taken this jacket off since I bought it, maybe I haven’t."
One person has even called it the 'Molly Mae effect' due to the high demand. They joked, while filming numerous people in the street wearing the jacket, 'Your sign to NOT buy the viral Zara jacket.'
