Zara Larsson is trading her signature bright blonde for a bold pink bob on the cover of Allure's newest issue, a beauty pivot that marks one of the most striking visual departures of her career so far. The Swedish pop star, photographed by Hugo Comte, appears across the shoot in metallic silver and minimalist black-and-white styling, a deliberate contrast to the neon, Barbie-pink aesthetic she has built her public image around for years.

According to hairstylist Iggy Rosales, who worked on the cover alongside makeup artist Sophia Sinot and stylist Ronald Burton III, the team built the shoot's concept around what he described as a modern 1950s pinup sensibility layered with a 2000s influence, aiming for something sexy, playful and a little fantastical. Rather than reaching for Larsson's usual golden blonde, the team settled on platinum and pink tones for her hair, ultimately landing on a bob with bangs for the issue's in-motion cover image. Rosales said the team tested a wide range of wig options before narrowing in on softer, dustier pink shades, and called the finished bob a departure for Larsson that still felt distinctly like her.
