Zara, Amazon and Wayfair recall clothing, toys and sofas amid choking and fire risks

Clothing, toys and sofas have been recalled amid safety concerns. The Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) has issued alerts about items told by Zara, Amazon and Wayfair to warn customers of the potential risk of some of their products.

Zara has recalled a children's jumpsuit as it poses a "serious" risk of choking. In a Product Safety Report it says: "The snap buttons may easily detach from the jumpsuit.

"A child may put them in their mouth and choke. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product SafetyRegulations 2005."

It adds: "The product has been withdrawn from the market by Zara. For further information, please access the Zara website.

The affected product is the Zara Kids Newborn Ribbed Romper witha reference of 4673/529/737 and in sizes for 1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months and 9 months to 1 year.

A toy sold on Amazon has also been recalled amid concerns it poses a choking risk. The Onsinic Pea Plush toy which is listed as a Pea Stuffed Kawaii Pea Shaped Pillow Toy poses a "high" risk of choking.

In the OPSS recall notice it says: "The product presents a risk of choking as parts of the product can detach at low force, producing a small part.

"The small part may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, causing a young child to choke. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011."

The listing for the toy, which is in the form of peas in a pod with emoji faces on the peas, has been removed by Amazon. Any which have been sold are now being recalled.

Meanwhile Wayfair has recalled its Hashtag Homes Abeer Reversible Corner Sofa. There are concerns the grey sofa with wooden legs poses a fire risk.

In its recall notice the OPSS warns: "The product has been identified as presenting a risk of fire. The product does not meet the requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988."
