Zach Braff has hailed his ex-girlfriend Florence Pugh as "one of the greatest actors of her generation" ahead of her appearance in his upcoming film A Good Person.
The Scrubs actor, 47, and Florence, 27, split least year, but that hasn't stopped the pair teaming up professionally as the pair produce the comedy-drama, while he also writes and directs.
The film follows Florence's character Allison, who is a young woman whose world falls apart when she survives an unimaginable tragedy while trying to overcome an opioid addiction and unresolved grief.
She forms an unlikely friendship with her would-be father-in-law, Daniel, played by Morgan Freeman. It's this link-up which gives her a fighting chance to try to get her life back on track and move forward.
Speaking to Vogue about his ex, Zach said: "I quite simply think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation."
He continued: "She’s just magnetic. You cannot take your eyes off of her. And it’s not just her beauty and it’s not just her acting ability, it’s that thing, that magic thing that transcends the screen, where anyone and everyone goes: I want to see whatever this person does."
At one point in the production, Florence is seen cutting her hair in a tense scene, with Zach confessing he asked her not to due to filming issues.
It's a moment she called a "mistake" as she "has to wear on her head for the entire film". Florence added: "I just wanted it to be a dreadful mess."
Florence went on to say she wanted to be "more of a London girl" so has bought a south London property to be closer to friends.
The Oxford-born star added: "You know, you have a daydream when you start out: What is it that means you’ve made it?
"What is it that means you are an adult? And for me it was: You live close to your friends and you have a local pub."
A Good Person is set to be released in cinemas in the UK in March this year before launching on Sky Cinema a month later.
