The Cincinnati Bengals continue to remain mum on the status of Joe Burrow.
It’s an approach the team took when Burrow was spotted warming up before one of the preseason games this summer. And it’s the approach the team has stood on this week as Burrow returned to practice and impressed teammates.
Buy Bengals TicketsBengals head coach Zac Taylor is at the forefront of that push, telling Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com that “we’re taking it day-to-day right now” when asked about Week 1.
Taylor, if nothing else, agreed about how Burrow looks.
“I thought he looked good. It was good to get him out there,” Taylor said. “It certainly energizes the team when you get a chance to get your starting quarterback back there, so I thought he looked good.”
Given that Burrow is out there without a sleeve in seven-on-seven work already, outside observers can come to their own conclusions about Week 1. But the team will remain in its usual stance so they don’t set any unwarranted expectations, which makes sense.
