Zaap Thai review: We tried Leeds' 'best street food' where the meals proved a mixed bag

Leeds Live readers crowned Zaap Thai Street Food as the best street venue throughout the city. So we had to try it out to see if it had earned that lofty title.

The restaurant is located on Vicar Lane, on the corner of Merrion Street. It's an eye-catching venue with rather striking signage, there are red and blue stripes which make the exterior look somewhat like an old school American diner. It's a welcoming addition to the street, which is so full of buildings with faded red brick and grey overtones.

It fits in well to the bustling Merrion Street as well, next to all those quirky bars. Inside the venue is really stunning, it's full of so much colour - lots of oranges, red and purples - there's bunting and flags and incandescent hanging lights dotted around.
