VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP leaders and cadres held celebrations to mark the completion of four years of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
The party leaders organized poor feeding and distributed fruits and sweets to the patients in the hospitals.
Ministers and legislators conducted bike rallies in several constituencies to celebrate the occasion.
Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy along with his wife Bharati visited Nirmala Hruday in Vijayawada and interacted with the destitute children and ailing patients. The chief minister couple distributed clothes and sweets to the children.
They spent more than 45 minutes in the home while interacting with children and elderly people. He enquired about the facilities available in the home and their needs. Chief minister inaugurated the sick and destitute home in the Nirmala Hriday run by missionaries of charities. Sisters of the Nirmal Hriday and Bishop Rajarao Telagathoti were also present.
Party senior leaders celebrated the event on a grand note at the party central office in Tadepalle. Party general secretary and advisor to government (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy cut the cake and unfurled the party flag. Addressing the party leaders and activists, Sajjala said that the opposition has become envious of the popularity of the government as the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is implementing various welfare programmes as per the election manifesto while giving equal importance to the development of the State.
"Naidu, who cheated all sections of society during the TDP rule by failing to implement the election manifesto, is now getting ready to cheat the people again by telling lies, making false promises and opting for alliance with his foster son in the next elections", said Sajjala. He demanded Naidu to spell out a single welfare scheme initiated during his regime. He said that Naidu was exposed himself by opposing the grant of house-sites to the poor in Amaravati.
He said that Naidu and his party men looted public money in the name of Anna canteens and took kickbacks even in the construction of public toilets besides cheating the women’s self-help groups. “Naidu is now trying to hoodwink the people again by telling lies and copying the Amma Vodi and renaming it as Ammaku Vandanam. The people are wise enough not to believe him,” he said, adding that the TDP president also knows this well.
He appealed to the people not to be carried away by the false promises of Naidu. Sajjala explained that the chief minister who has inherited the legacy of his father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy is running the state on two wheels of welfare and development. He, however, wanted all YSRCP leaders and workers to be cautious of the gimmicks of Naidu who wants to come to power through alliances and false assurances. Party senior leader Ummareddi Venkateswarlu, social welfare minister Dr Merugu Nagarjuna and Appireddy were present.
