YS Viveka murder case: CBI asks Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy to appear for questioning

TIRUPATI: In a significant development in the sensational YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths from Hyderabad have asked Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy to appear before them for questioning at 3pm on Tuesday.

The CBI sleuths who tried to meet the Kadapa MP to serve notices to him on Monday to appear before them at Hyderabad on Tuesday, couldn't meet Avinash Reddy and had to handover the notices to his personal assistant Raghava Reddy.

According to reliable sources, the Kadapa MP who collected the CBI notices from his PA later on Monday evening, communicated to the CBI sleuths that he shall appear before them after five days since he was caught up in the middle of pre-scheduled meetings and commitments.

It may be recalled that former parliamentarian YS Vivekananda Reddy was found brutally murdered at his own residence at Pulivendula on 15th March 2019, in the run up to the general elections.

While the CBI took over the investigation of the case from the special investigation team appointed by the state government following a high court order.

And following a Supreme Court order, the trial and probe into the larger conspiracy behind the murder of the former Andhra Pradesh minister, was transferred to Hyderabad in November last year.
