Bosses at a Glasgow hotel have expressed their shock at a video that appears to show someone riding on top of one of their elevators.
The video was posted online earlier this week by anonymous Youtuber we have chosen not to name - who said they "nearly got crushed" performing the deadly stunt at the Marriott hotel in Glasgow city centre.
In it, the Youtuber is seen riding atop the lift up to the 12th floor of the hotel before it stops just feet away from the top of the shaft as they cling on to the top of the lift. The lift then travels down, stopping at some floors in between before it cuts to another clip of the lift travelling back up again, marked by the sound of the lift doors opening at various points as hotel guests enter/leave it.

The Marriott video is just one of a host shared online from tower blocks and hotels across the country the same person who warns against copying 'any activities you see' as the dangers of lift surfing 'involve crushing, electrocution, entrapment, serious injury and death'.
Bosses at the Marriott have labelled the behaviour by the trespasser "extremely dangerous" after Glasgow Live brought it to their attention, and said they have now passed it on to Police Scotland.
And they added that they will "further review" their security arrangements with the lift contractor "to avoid anyone else putting their lives at risk in this way.”
A spokesperson for Glasgow Marriott said: "We were shocked to see the extremely dangerous behaviour of the trespasser in this video, which we have now passed to Police Scotland.
"We take safety very seriously and will further review our already robust security arrangements with the lift contractor to avoid anyone else putting their lives at risk in this way.”
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
