RAIPUR: Famous YouTuber of Chhattisgarh Devraj Patel was killed in a road accident when the bike he was pillion-riding collided with a truck in the state capital on Monday.
The 22-year-old YouTuber shot to fame through his YouTube channel ‘Dil se bura lagta hai’ and used to speak in Chhattisgarhi dialect.
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed grief over the demise of Devraj and tweeted that Devraj who made place in the hearts of crores of people has left for heavenly abode.
"He had exceptional skills and his loss is very sad," the CM said.
Videos and condolences for the YouTuber comedian were widely shared on social media.
Devraj had more than four lakh subscribers on YouTube and over eight crore views and was known for his style and funny videos.
Police said that Devraj was returning from Nava Raipur after recording a video around 3.30pm when an accident took place near the Labhandi area.
He was riding pillion with a friend Rakesh Manhar when the bike’s handle rubbed with a truck and they fell.
Though his friend escaped unhurt, Patel sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital.
He was declared dead by the time he reached hospital.
The deceased YouTuber was a resident of the Mahasamund district.
