Deji has admitted he is unsure what to expect when facing Floyd Mayweather next month - but is anticipating it will be fun.
The YouTube star has a unique opportunity to share the ring with boxing legend Mayweather at the Coca Cola Arena on November 13 in an eight-round exhibition. Deji - real name Oladeji Olatunji - has had a mixed start to his boxing career so far suffering three consecutive defeats before picking up his first win by stoppage over fellow content creator Fousey.
Despite his poor form Deji has now earned himself a shot at one of the greatest fighters to ever step in the ring, with the pair having already come face-to-face. And the British star has revealed he is hoping to pick up some of the former champion's technique to use when returning to the content creator boxing scene.
"First and foremost I am expecting fun because I know it is going to be fun," Deji said during an interview on the Ril & Wils podcast. "I am expecting him to show off his skills and everything because obviously people have been saying stuff about him. The thing is though there is no blueprint to beat Floyd so I don't really know what to expect. Ultimately I want to go in there and steal some technique."
Deji's first loss came against fellow YouTuber Jake Paul who has since gone on to big things having fought five times undefeated as a professional. He then tried to avenge his loss but came up short in a contest with TikTok star Vinnie Hacker. In what was expected to be his final outing, Deji met Alex Wassabi and lost for a third time, but he bounced back in his most recent win on his brother KSI's undercard.
He will look to follow in the footsteps of content creator Logan Paul who has already survived an eight-round distance with Mayweather during a hugely successful exhibition last year. This will be the American's fifth outing since retiring after beating Conor McGregor in 2017, which has seen him also touch gloves with former sparring partner Don Moore and most recently Japanese star Mikuru Asakura.
Deji believes the opportunity feels surreal that he is next in line to challenge Mayweather and he is grateful to be part of the legend's exhibition circuit. "I have no words, really," he said. "This is amazing, I'm truly blessed. I want to give thanks to God because honestly if it wasn't for him I wouldn't even be here, my team as well.
"Literally, this is surreal, all of this. I've seen this place on TV and now I'm here next to the champ, so I'm truly blessed. It's amazing, this is history, isn't it. That's all I can really say. I'm amazed."
