Several youth organizing groups have thrown their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. The endorsement, announced on Friday, highlights Harris' track record on critical issues such as youth gun violence, climate change, and student loan debt.
The list of endorsing organizations includes prominent groups like Voters of Tomorrow, College Democrats of America, and Young Democrats of America. In a bid to engage young voters, the campaign plans to host events tailored to this demographic in battleground states over the weekend as part of the '100 Days Weekend of Action' initiative.
As part of these efforts, the campaign will organize its first youth phone bank of the cycle and launch a national distributive program for young voters, which will feature a dedicated youth Discord channel.
Eve Levenson, the National Youth Engagement Director for Harris' campaign, emphasized the importance of young voters, noting their significant impact on elections. Levenson highlighted Harris' commitment to ensuring a future where every young person has access to affordable quality healthcare, the freedom to make decisions about their bodies, a substantial reduction in climate change, and the eradication of gun violence in schools and communities.
