I have the best spouse someone could ask for. She's brilliant, loving, full of energy, matches my weirdness, and best of all, will absolutely call me on my bullshit whenever I go too far down a rabbit hole. And most of the time, it's merely by giving me a look that details, "You're absolutely not doing that, as it would likely kill you, leave us homeless, and you aren't doing that to me."
She's often far more right than I ever am. But once in a blue moon, when the stars are aligned, I've found a four-leaf clover, and knocked on every piece of wood I can find, that hair-brained, stupid as hell, righteously dumb idea is actually the good one, and I get away with it. Sometimes, even stupid works out. Apparently, I'm not the only one who's encountered this, with Tech3 MotoGP's Günther Steiner finding similar rhetoric from his own wife before entering the grid last year.
