June is off to a hot start, with a sizzling mix of new shows and movies to watch this weekend on Netflix, Prime Video and more of the best streaming services. I've put together a weekend binge list with something for everybody, from psychological thrillers and family adventures to romantic comedies.
The TV lineup is led by the series remake of "Cape Fear," starring Javier Bardem as a charming psychopath who upends the lives of Amy Addams and Patrick Wilson. Also on the docket: the glam rock makeover of "The Vampire Lestat" and another season of dating shenanigans on "Love Island."
For your movie night in, Jennifer Lopez returns to her rom-com roots in "Office Romance," while Alexander Skarsgård is a sexy dom in "Pillion." Plus, Pixar's "Hoppers" hits Disney+ with woodland cuteness. Here's our guide on what to watch.

‘Cape Fear’ (Apple TV)
The vibes: Martin Scorsese’s stalking classic is rebooted for the doomscroll era.
The plot: Adapted from the 1991 film, the series reimagines the thriller for the present day. Javier Bardem’s Max Cady is released from prison and zeroes in on married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden (Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson). Using charisma as a weapon, he sows doubt and reaps paranoia as public perception turns against the couple, slowly unspooling their lives.

‘Not Suitable for Work’ (Hulu)
The vibes: Think “Friends," but they actually go to their jobs instead of hanging around a coffee shop all day.
The plot: Mindy Kaling’s latest series follows five ambitious twentysomethings in New York City as they claw their way through careers, identity crises and astronomical rent payments. First-year investment banker AJ (Ella Hunt) is running on delusions that she's an alpha, while Abby (Avantika) is barely surviving the fashion world’s daily humiliations. Constance Wu, Jay Ellis, Ego Nwodim, and Victor Garber round things out as the bosses from hell.

‘The Vampire Lestat’ (AMC+)
The vibes: Sex, drugs, rock and roll, with a frontman who's undead.
The plot: After two seasons of telling Louis’ version of events in "Interview with the Vampire," Lestat (Sam Reid) finally hijacks the narrative. Furious that Daniel Molloy’s bestselling memoir cast him as the villain, the immortal diva responds the only way he knows how: by becoming a rock star. His globe-trotting tour — featuring original songs — is one that won't be forgotten by the living or the immortal.

‘The Legend of Vox Machina’ season 4 (Prime Video)
The vibes: When post-heroics malaise sets in and there few therapy options.
The plot: It's been a year since Vox Machina defeated the Chroma Conclave and the crew has drifted into new lives. Some are chasing meaning, others are trying very hard to have a normal retirement. Naturally, peace doesn’t last long. A new apocalyptic threat pulls them back into world-saving mode. The penultimate season also introduces Taryon Darrington, who arrives brimming with confidence and promising chaos.

‘Love Island USA’ season 8 (Peacock)
The vibes: Love is in the air ... but more importantly, so is fame and $100,000.
The plot: A new group of singles slides into the villa ready to flirt hard, couple up and insist they're here to find their person. Ha! This season brings in a Paralympic medalist and a contestant with franchise-adjacent pedigree. As loyalties shift by the hour, the villa turns into a pressure cooker of jealousy, strategy and public humiliation. Ariana Madix is back to steer the mess, while Iain Stirling narrates every bad decision like it’s a nature documentary.

‘Office Romance’ (Netflix)
The vibes: ‘The Wedding Planner’ grew up, got promoted to CEO and stopped reading HR emails.
The plot: Jennifer Lopez returns to the genre she practically helped define, playing a hard-charging airline CEO whose strict no-office-romance policy becomes a problem when sparks fly with the new company lawyer. Co-written by Brett Goldstein, who also stars, this glossy workplace rom-com leans into the kind of crackling chemistry that makes ignoring HR rules seem less of a bad decision.

‘Pillion’ (HBO Max)
The vibes: What if your kink is self-discovery?
The plot: In Harry Lighton’s Cannes award-winning debut film, Colin (Harry Melling) is a painfully earnest choir singer still living with his parents. He meets and is instantly captivated by Ray (Alexander Skarsgård), a biker who looks like he was engineered in a Scandinavian lab for maximum smolder. As Colin sinks deeper into their dominant-submissive relationship, what starts as sexual awakening becomes a journey of self-actualization. TG’s Malcolm McMillan raves about the “incredible love story” in his “Pillion” review.

‘Hoppers’ (Disney+)
The vibes: “The Wild Robot” meets “Avatar,” with woodland politics and eco-activism.
The plot: Pixar's latest centers on Mabel Tanaka, a college student who takes her obsession with animals to an entirely new level: uploading her consciousness into a robotic beaver. Her mission is to save a beloved wilderness from a mayor's highway project, but things get complicated when she discovers an animal kingdom with its own politics and power struggles. In his “Hoppers” review, TG’s Malcolm McMillan called it “delightful.”

‘Hokum’ (PVOD)
The vibes: What better place to break your writer’s block than … an insanely creepy old hotel?!
The plot: Horror veteran Damian McCarthy’s chilling flick follows Ohm Bauman (Adam Scott), an American author who’s stuck in a creative rut. He heads to rural Ireland to scatter his parents’ ashes at the honeymoon hotel where they stayed decades earlier, but instead of closure, he finds talk of a witch haunting the suite. Of course, he promptly investigates. And of course, creepy things start to happen. As Josh Bell says in his “Hokum” review for Tom’s Guide, the film is “horrifying and darkly funny.”
