A youngster from Falaknuma was picked up by Telangana police for suspicious activities related to terrorism.
The suspect, Sulaiman, is being counselled and no case has been registered so far, a senior police official confirmed.
The Counter Intelligence Cell of Telangana police was tracking his online activities for the last several weeks. “The CI Cell along with Cyber Crime police of Hyderabad apprehended Sulaiman,” he said.
When asked if the suspect was affiliated to any terror outfit, the officer said that Sulaiman was a ‘lone wolf’ and got radicalised by watching and reading terror related information online.
“According to his family members and locals, there has been a change in Sulaiman’s behaviour for several months,” another officer said, adding that a decision to register a case is yet to be taken.
“The officers are also considering letting him off after counselling. They are yet to take a call,” the officer added.
