CHENNAI: Heading into the Asian Champions Trophy, Malaysia were not particularly brimming with excitement. Their head coach A Arul Selvaraj was a bit upset with ACT's scheduling as he felt that the continental tournament disrupted his team's preparations for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

While the world No. 9 Malaysia have had their eyes fixed on the big prize- the Asian Games gold medal that guarantees a direct ticket to the 2024 Olympics- they have put their best foot forward in the ACT, without unleashing the tricks they have up their sleeve.
