A woman who died after being shot in Old Swan was named locally as a "beautiful" and "lovely girl."
Merseyside police were called to Leinster Road, Old Swan, just after 12.40am on Sunday, after concerns for safety of a woman at the address. Police found a woman, in her 20s, in the back garden with gunshot wounds.
Paramedics and police gave the victim treatment at the scene before she was rushed to hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead. Detectives then confirmed they had launched a murder investigation.
