A young woman had to be rescued from Clarence Dock, in Leeds city centre, close to the Royal Armouries, after entering the water on Thursday night (January 5).
Fire crews from Hunslet and Leeds fire stations rushed to the scene after police requested assistance following reports of a woman in trouble in the Calder and Aire Navigation at about 6.30pm. Yorkshire Ambulance also attended the incident with the young female being pulled out of the water between 7-7.30pm after a small boat was deployed by firefighters.
The woman could be seen walking towards an ambulance following the rescue, with a large towel draped round her. It is unclear at the moment how she entered the water, but she is now in the care of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
