A young mum "kicked off" when a bouncer tried to stop her walking down a staircase with a glass, a court heard. Alana Keane was celebrating her husband's birthday when she assaulted the door supervisor in Popworld, located in The Poultry, Nottingham.
The incident happened on July 2, 2022, just before 6pm when the victim flagged down police in Victoria Street, Nottingham, saying he was assaulted when he was working at Popworld. Popworld is upstairs at what used to be Squares - above sports bar Huddl - with its own dedicated entrance on the left.
The bouncer had a visible injury to his lip and bleeding to his face. Keane had attempted to leave the dance floor and walk off down a staircase, holding a glass of drink.

The bouncer followed her to stop her taking the glass - due to the establishment's regulations. "This caused her to kick off," said Matt Hayes, prosecuting, on Wednesday (April 16). "She tried to push him downstairs as he escorted her".
His victim impact statement was read out, explaining how he had been hesitant returning to work and going in was traumatising. He had been quite confident about his conflict resolving ability.
He said this was an "unprecedented, unprovoked act" he was not anticipating. Keane has one conviction for battery from six years ago.
Today, Keane, of Cheveley Park, Grantham, pleaded guilty to assault by beating of the victim, and was handed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay him £500 compensation.
Roger Wilson, mitigating, said she is 25, and was out at the time with her husband for his birthday. She was not drunk, does not normally socialise and has a young child at home.
She is now five months pregnant with her second child and she works in the beauty trade. Currently on Universal Credit of £600-a-month, she has signed a lease on premises.
Mr Wilson said: "She felt she was being asked to leave the club when she didn't need to. She does not accept her drunkenness ". He stressed to the judge the matter was nine months ago, she has one old previous conviction, and had offered compensation.
She is keen to put this behind her, he added, and she has thought about the incident daily. Recorder Benjamin Nolan KC accepted she had been stressed by this event.
But he said it was not acceptable to be violent to people who are serving a public function and are trying to keep order in nightclubs.
