A young man died after falling while climbing out in North Somerset, an inquest has heard. Benjamin Gray was climbing at Goblin Combe on March 5 this year when he suffered a fall and sustained a traumatic head injury.
His inquest heard that paramedics attended the scene and the 21-year-old was taken to Southmead Hospital. However, his condition then deteriorated and he died in hospital the following day on March 6.
Inquest records show that the medical cause of death was ruled to be a traumatic brain injury sustained as a result of a fall. Coroner Dr Peter Harrowing ruled Mr Gray, a water sport apprentice from Malmesbury in Wiltshire, died as a result of misadventure.
