
A young man was killed in a car crash outside an east London station early on Friday morning.
The emergency services, including the police, ambulance service and London Fire Brigade, were called to Walthamstow at 12:30am to reports of a collision at the junction of Blackhorse Road and Forest Road.
A cordon was set up and the road was closed.
A 26-year-old man who was travelling on foot was killed in the fatal crash outside Blackhorse Road station.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene but he sadly died shortly after.
The driver was a 52-year-old man. The Metropolitan Police said the car rammed into a building following the collision.
He suffered minor injuries and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The man is in police custody.
Labour MP for Walthamstow Stella Creasy said she was “devastated” by the incident.

She said in a post on social media: “Devastated by the news of last night’s fatal road traffic accident outside Blackhorse Road station.
“I will be seeking an urgent update from Transport for London today on the site and how we can improve safety there.
“Thoughts very much with the victim and their friends and family as well as those who witnessed it and tried to help.”
A spokesperson for the Met Police told MyLondon: “At around 12.30am on Friday, December 12 police responded to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Forest Road and Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow.
“Officers, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade attended the scene following a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The car then collided with a building.
"Paramedics treated the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, at the scene, but he was sadly pronounced dead at 1.04am. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“Anyone with an information or dashcam footage in relation to this incident is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting CAD 149/12DEC25.”
