A young man was abducted by five thugs, beaten with a hammer and dumped on a roadside yesterday evening.
The Irish Mirror can reveal the 22-year-old was bundled into a Ford Galaxy on the Finglas Road in West Dublin at around 5pm.
In social media footage, young women watched in horror from a bus at what was happening. The vehicle was driven up Cappagh Road before the man was believed to have been dumped in the Kilshane Road area.
It’s understood the car was found burnt out in the Dunsink Lane area.
The victim, who is from the area, was left on the road with serious injuries.
Members of Dublin Fire Brigade arrived at the scene to treat him before he was rushed to James Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
Gardai are probing if the incident is linked with a feud involving mobster Mr Flashy’s gang and a rival faction.
A source said: “Gardai are taking the incident very seriously and huge work is underway to identify the culprits.”
A Garda spokesman said no arrests have been made yet. He added: “Gardai are investigating all the circumstances of an
incident where a man was assaulted on the evening of Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in the Finglas area of Dublin.
“The injured man, aged in his 20s, has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“No arrests have been made at this time.”
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the incident.
