Three young girls walked onto train tracks in one part of south Wales - and came dangerously close to being hit by an oncoming train.
The incident occurred at around 5.50pm near Bridgend - and British Transport Police said the trio were "just seconds" away from certain death. The specific location where it happened has not been revealed.
However, officers have publicised the incident to warn people - especially children - about the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks.

A statement from the British Transport Police said: "At around 5.50pm on Thursday, April 20, we received a report of three young girls on the rail tracks in the Bridgend area. They removed themselves from the tracks with seconds to go before a train passed.
"The railway can be an extremely dangerous place to be and we urge everyone to have conversations with their young loved ones about this. We will continue to work with schools across Wales highlighting the extreme nature of the railway and to always refrain from trespassing, which is illegal."
In 2021, police said there were 720 trespass incidents recorded in Wales.
Network Rail says on its website that not only is trespassing dangerous, but it is also illegal. The organisation says: "You could be taken to court and face a £1,000 fine. For this reason, when we see someone trespassing, we have to stop all trains in the vicinity to remove trespassers, check for damage and clear blockages."
