Netflix has announced the upcoming release of its brand new series, Young Famous & African. Based in South Africa, the new reality series will follow the lives of wealthy young and wealthy Africans including the drama that may go on in their personal lives.

When is Young, Famous & African released on Netflix?

Netflix has announced that on Friday, March 18th the Young Famous & African series will be released.

What to expect from Young, Famous & African?

The official teaser for this glitzy reality series is set to follow a group of affluent A-list media personalities from across the African continent including Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda.

In the series, the collective comes to meet in Johannesburg. Upon this new venture, they hope to make new connections, find romance and maybe even rekindle some old flames. On the Young Famous & African cast, you can expect to see Entrepreneur and socialite Zarinah 'Zari' Hassan, actress and television host Khanyi Mbau, singer and songwriter Diamond Platnumz, actor and entrepreneur Annie Macaulay-Idibia. Also appearing in the reality TV series cast will be popstar Innocent '2Baba' Idibia, Celebrity stylist Jeremiah 'Swanky Jerry' Ogbodo, rapper Nadia Nakai, TV personality Andile Ncube, DJ Quinton 'Naked DJ' Masina and socialite Kayleigh Schwark.

From the casting, it is clear that there is a mix of creative and successful young Africans who are set to bring this show to life as the show will follow their lives.

The unapologetic and unscripted show’s teaser highlights the rich life that these young individuals have as the teaser video shows the flashy cars, clothes and even private jets that they flaunt.

Throughout the trailer, the bold words of ‘’sex, shade and scandal’’ feature throughout the 1-minute video.

The teaser also highlights members of the affluent group playing sports often associated with the wealthy lifestyle such as golf.

Details of certain storylines are also teased as there is mention of a cheating scandal in the teaser clip.

Throughout it all, you can expect there to be an undoubted sense of African pride amongst the group as the teaser ends with a cast member stating ‘’African Queen’’.
