A child was rushed to hospital after they began choking on an object at a Scots nursery.
Emergency services raced to Cranley Buckstone nursery on Braid Road in Edinburgh after the alarm was raised at around 12.15pm on Friday July 22.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene and the child, who is understood to have been five years old, was rushed to Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital for treatment.
The child received treatment and was thankfully able to return to nursery the following day.
The nursery say staff acted quickly to help the child before they were handed into the care of medics.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12:13pm to attend to an incident at an address in Braid Road, Edinburgh on July 22.
“Two divisional resources were dispatched and the patient was transported to Edinburgh Sick Kids.”
A spokesman for Cranley Buckstone nursery said: “We can confirm there was a choking incident involving a preschool child at Cranley Buckstone nursery at lunchtime.
“Staff acted quickly and emergency services were called. The child was taken to hospital and returned to our nursery the following day.
“The staff in charge of the children when this happened were trained in First Aid and acted calmly and professionally.
“The nursery was fully staffed in accordance with Care Inspectorate ratios.”
