Young boy taken to hospital after being struck by car evading Queensland police in hit-and-run incident

A 12-year-old boy has been hospitalised after being struck by a car evading authorities during a Queensland police intercept in Brisbane's south.

A highway patrol spotted the unregistered car on Kessels Road at Macgregor shortly after midday.

Police said the vehicle sped off and ran a red light, hitting a boy who was crossing an intersection with his bike on Mains Road near the Sunnybank Plaza.
