'You watch Leeds' - Micah Richards makes interesting claim on Leeds United and Wolves differing seasons

Micah Richards has suggested Leeds United are a far more entertaining watch than Wolverhampton Wanderers despite their differing positions in the league table.

Wolves currently sit seventh in the Premier League, three points adrift of the top four, while Leeds find themselves on the periphery of a relegation battle, with just six points separating them from the bottom three.

The Whites have been branded as the division’s entertainers since winning promotion back in July 2020, however they have failed to hit the heights of last season during the current campaign.

Wolves have scored just 21 goals in their 23 matches this term but possess the second-best defensive record in the league, having conceded just 17 – a tally bettered only by league leaders Manchester City.

On the contrary, Leeds have scored 28 goals so far this season but have been far more leaky at the back – shipping 46 – only Norwich City have a worse defensive record.

And it appears to be that reason why former Manchester City defender Richards has made the claim – suggesting that even Wolves fans would prefer to watch Leeds than their own team.

Speaking on 5Live’s Monday Night Club, he said: “They don’t entertain as much as Leeds. You know what Leeds are. I’m saying to you if you asked a fan on the street ‘who would you rather watch? Leeds or Wolves’ – even the Wolves fans would say watch Leeds because it’s going to be entertainment.”

Fellow 5Live pundit Chris Sutton was certainly not of the same opinion as Richards, as he pointed towards the two teams’ league positions.

He said: “Who said Leeds are going for the top four? That’s not going to happen.”
