'You wait' - Mohamed Salah sends Everton message to Thiago after Liverpool win over Manchester United

Mohamed Salah has joked with Thiago Alcantara that Liverpool’s next match will be “much more fun” after their humiliation of Manchester United.

The Reds thrashed United 4-0 at Anfield to move two points ahead of Manchester City in the title race having played a game more. A brace from Salah combined with goals from Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane secured all three points.

Another player who impressed for Liverpool was Thiago Alcantara, who received a standing ovation from the Anfield crowd for his performance. The midfielder then took part in a post-match interview on Sky Sports with Salah, who joked with his team-mate.

The Reds' next fixture is a Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield on Sunday. Thiago was talking about enjoying the victory over United when Salah interrupted to send a message to his team-mate.

“You wait until the next one,” said Salah to Thiago. The Egyptian added: “You’ve never played a derby here, so you wait for the next one. It’s going to be much more fun.”

Salah went on to reflect on Liverpool moving to the top of the Premier League above Man City, who play their game in hand at home to Brighton on Wednesday.

“It’s great, but let’s wait until tomorrow because Man City is not an easy team to lose points,” Salah added. “We just need to focus on ourselves and the rest is not in our hands. The only thing we can focus on is our games and we’ll see.”
