LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party president and leader of opposition in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday took a potshot at the BJP for its “dislike” for ‘itr’ (perfume) and not making any budgetary provision for the perfume industry in Kannauj.
"Aapko itr se lagaav na ho...par khusboo sabko pasand hai...," he said while speaking in the UP assembly during a discussion on the budget. The SP had invited acerbic barbs from the saffron ranks during UP polls after a huge cache of unaccounted cash was recovered from a Kanpur-based perfume trader, Piyush Jain, purportedly linked to SP. The SP had though claimed that Jain was connected to the BJP.
