You could get a job running Prince Charles and Camilla's diary

Ever fancied managing the busy diaries of Prince Charles and Camilla? In a new job listed on LinkedIn, one lucky candidate could be spending their working days doing just that, along with a new fancy title: Diary Manager for The Household of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

Based in London, the candidate will work as part of The Household, supporting the official and charitable work of The Queen. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the diaries of Prince Charles and Camilla, whether that be keeping track of all official invitations, through to ensuring they’re not royally ‘double-booked’.

The job is live on LinkedIn here, applications close on June 5, and the royal employer is on the lookout for a candidate with strong organisational skills.

Thje jo description reads: "The Diary Manager is principle point of contact for Diary Liaison and De-Confliction. Responsible for the timely processing of Programmes for Their Royal Highnesses’ official Engagements.

"Main duties will ensure knowledge transfer, appropriate delegation of responsibilities and tasks across both current and future diary portfolios, providing professional support across all areas of work within the Equerry’s Office and Wider Household. The Diary Manager will work with The Equerry to lead a weekly coordination review and always ensure accuracy and coherence."

It adds: "Applicants should have relevant work experience with a busy diary/programme, working to tight deadlines, ability to manage concurrent tasks, drafting correspondence and managing large volumes of paperwork with confidence and discretion."

The job pays £35,000 to £36,000 a year.

Charlotte Davies, Career Expert at LinkedIn, said: “Spending your days organising the diaries of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall - and getting paid for it - surely has to be every royalists' dream.

“With several different engagements and events every day, the pair’s schedule must be planned to perfection to ensure they’re not royally double-booked; so organisation skills will no doubt be top of The Household’s list of ‘must-have’ skills. If you’re thinking about putting yourself forward for the role currently open on LinkedIn, make sure you spotlight in your application how, in previously held roles, you’ve been able to manage your time successfully.

“Here are three top tips that may well help you to stand out from the crowd and land your dream royal job.”

1. Keep your online profiles royally up-to-scratch. Employers often search for candidates online, so it’s important that your social media presence is royally up-to-scratch. Even if you have limited previous work experience, make sure to update your LinkedIn profile with any relevant skills, qualifications and passions that you’d want your prospective employer to see. Don’t overlook your other public social channels either - you don’t want the Royal Household to see anything that might make them blush!

2. Confidence is key. These are unique roles, with a very high-profile boss. Very few applicants will have had direct experience working with royalty so if this sounds like your dream role, be confident in your abilities and put your best foot forward in the application. If you have the right skills, there’s no reason it couldn’t be you!

3. Lean on your online community. Many members on LinkedIn have shared a wide variety of experiences when it comes to applying, interviewing and accepting new roles. Reach out to those in your LinkedIn community for their top tips on how to ace the application process; it's likely you’ll receive some brilliant pieces of advice along with some really helpful do’s and don'ts.
