A BMW was washed out to sea earlier after parking on a beach in the West Country. St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team was called to Trevaunance Beach, St Agnes in Cornwall. at about 8.30 this morning (Sunday, May 28) and were tasked with making sure all the occupants of the vehicle were safe.
The coastguard crew then remained with the vehicle until it was recovered from the water. A video taken at the beach shows the BMW at a considerable distance out to sea.
Cornwall Live reports it is unclear how the car ended up in the sea but it was eventually removed at 10.19am. When launched, the M4 convertible was worth over £100,000.

Describing the rescue on its Facebook page, St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team said: "Callout 16 Sunday 28th May 2023 0829hrs (514662) Trevaunance Beach - St Agnes.
"Team tasked to the Trevaunance Beach car wash to make sure all occupants were out of the vehicle and safe. We remained on scene whilst recovery efforts were made and the vehicle was finally removed.
"Team stood down and returned to station at 1019hrs." They added: "You can’t park there sir!"
The vehicle has since been recovered and towed. The post has attracted scores of comments, some unsympathetic, some amusing. Geoff Searle said: "Ah, the silly season has well and truly arrived." Alan and Jenny Parker wrote: "Did someone forget to tell the tide that BMWs can park anywhere they want?" Andy Catrell added: "Well there is a hosepipe ban on."
