You can get paid to work on one of Wales’ most dramatic railways with 'full training provided'

One of Wales' most treasured and dramatic railways is looking for individuals to carry out maintenance work and repairs surrounded by some of the country's most breathtaking scenery with "full training provided".

Snowdon Mountain Railway is Britain's only rack railway centred in the majestic Yr Wyddfa, where the ancient landscape dominates North Wales and offers one of the most scenic journeys in the world. Now there's a unique opportunity to work in surroundings that blow working from home out of this world.

The full-time position will see recruits working on the railway providing repairs and maintenance of the infrastructure that is one of the country's most popular tourist attractions and has seen an estimated 12 million travellers take to its rails since 1896, when it officially opened. Full training will be provided for the lucky 'railway maintenance operative', who will work throughout the railway's operating season of mid-March until the end of october, with the role also having some closed season responsibilities. Working hours would be an average of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from November to March, increasing to an average of 48 hours per week including weekends. Starting salary is £23,500.

Snowdon Mountain Railway is part of Heritage Great Britain Plc, a group of companies and businesses which operate some of the UK’s most outstanding landmark destinations and popular visitor attractions.
