PRAYAGRAJ: Union defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday candidly admitted that Yogi Adityanath has been a better chief minister of UP than he was.
Addressing an election rally at Kalhooganj in Pratapgarh district, Singh, who was UP chief minister from 2000 to 2002, said, "Chief minister Yogi Adityanth put all efforts in restoring the law and order in the state and maintaining it, and his mo-del is being appreciated across the country."
Bringing law and order back on track and improving it was a priority for overall development of the state and Yogi has achieved this successfully, he said. "Now goons and mafia prefer to stay inside jails. Yogi's bulldozers have become the talk of the town and I have even advised him to purchase more bulldozers," the defence minister said.
The properties of mafia and goons are being demolished and the Yogi-led state government is now constructing houses for the poor on that land, he added.
The defence minister also praised chief minister Yogi's active role for the construction of the international airport at Jewar and said thousands of people would get jobs because of it.
