A Yeovil-based cleaning company has been acquired by a global healthcare goods and tech business for an undisclosed sum. Craftex Cleaning Systems, in Ilchester, manufactures cleaning chemicals and machinery for the the UK and European market.
It has been acquired by 2San, which provides infection control technologies, diagnostic testing kits, medical grade PPE, and certified medical consumables to governments, healthcare entities and corporate clients across retail, big pharma, insurance, leisure and the travel industries.
2San said the acquisition of Craftex would "spearhead" its expansion into sustainable chemical-free cleaning. The company also said it would use its global supply chain, logistics and sales structure to help Craftex expand further beyond Europe.
The two businesses have already developed an environmentally friendly cleaning product - called CleanZero - made from re-engineered water.
Jason Tallamy, global brand director and former managing director at Craftex, said; “We are delighted to join the 2San family and really look forward to the exciting growth journey for our products and services. 2San and Craftex are perfectly positioned to serve the growing needs of businesses seeking more affordable and sustainable cleaning solutions.”
Mark Hewlett, global chief executive at 2San, added: “We are delighted to welcome Craftex to be part of 2San. Our focus is very much to bring innovative and sustainable products and services to our customers. As a group we are united in delivering affordable, accessible, sustainable, and high-quality products to the market globally."
