Years & Years star Olly Alexander shared a poignant message about women’s rights and how much he loves being gay during his Glastonbury set on Sunday (June 26).
Performing on the Other Stage at Worthy Farm this evening he started by saying he wouldn’t be talking for as long as he did during his 2019 appearance at the festival, when he shared a powerful speech to mark Pride month.
He then went onto address the recent announcement that US abortion rights were overturned by the Supreme Court.

The results of the US Supreme Court's decision has led to a series of protests in America. And it seems like many across the pond, here in the UK are also unimpressed with the court's decision, including Glastonbury fest-goers.
Speaking to the crowd Olly Alexander said: “Women should be able to have an abortion anywhere across the globe. And I will just say any attack on any human being's bodily autonomy is literally an attack on all of us. It doesn’t matter who you are, this affects us all.
"I know you guys get that, but I just wanted to add."
Referencing his 2019 speech he added: “I talked a lot about being gay because I do love it, can’t recommend it enough.
“I said I wouldn’t be able to be here if it wasn’t for the people that came before me. And I can’t tell you how excited I am to be performing before the Pet Shop Boys.
“Two iconic legends who paved the way and I love them both so much. It is a huge honour to be playing this next song which is a Pet Shop Boys classic. This is ‘It’s a Sin’." The Pet Shop Boys are headlining the Other stage at 9.45pm tonight.
Alexander is one of a number of performers at Glastonbury to address the decision to overturn Roe v Wade in the US.
During her Saturday set on June 25, Olivia Rodrigo brought out Lily Allen to sing her popular song 'F*** You'. This was intentionally done to react to the US Supreme Court's unpopular decision.
Friday night’s headliner Billie Eilish also referenced the decision during her performance on the Pyramid Stage.
