Yasir Al-Rumayyan's vision and Newcastle boss Eddie Howe hints at transfer window shopping spree

Eddie Howe has hinted at a summer shopping spree at Newcastle United after the club edged towards the Premier League's top 10 and hit the magic 40 point mark.

The Toon head coach invited Yasir Al-Rumayyan into the dressing room to party with players, with Newcastle's top-flight status all but secure.

Howe has five more matches to focus on before the summer transfer window will dominate the headlines across the world's media. Howe has been guarded on talk of recruitment so far, but knows that key talks with the chairman are required moving forward.

Howe said: "You have to be aligned in your vision, that's so important when you're trying to take a club forward into hopefully a successful period for the football club, that you're on the same wavelength, you're together in your decision-making processes because if you're not aligned, then problems occur.

"It's a two-way thing. We have to talk regularly, communicate well and then iron out any differences that we may share. So far, it's been a very, very good relationship. January was key and we can all see the benefits of what January did for the team, so so far, so good."

And speaking about Al-Rumayyan's visit to the dressing room, Howe said: "Yes, he did come into the dressing room, he shared the moment with the players.

"He didn't say anything, but he was very much enjoying the moment with the players and experiencing the highs that winning brings, so it was great to see. I fully embrace that and I feel that as close as we can be together as one, then that's going to benefit everyone."

Speaking about communications with the Toon supremo in general, Howe said: "Yes, we have communications and as I said earlier I think it's very helpful that we do that regularly regardless of where he is in the world."
