QUICK SUMMARY
Xiaomi has launched a new 2-in-1 smart appliance that purifies and humidifies indoor air at the same time.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier with Humidification Pro first launched via a crowdfunding campaign in China for $255. Since then, it has appeared on the brand's global website, suggesting it will launch worldwide imminently.
Xiaomi has unveiled a new smart home appliance that combines an air purifier and humidifier into a single device. Officially called the Mijia Smart Air Purifier with Humidification Pro, it not only cleans the air but also helps maintain healthy humidity levels indoors.
Measuring 32 x 32 x 81cm, the purifier is also designed for quieter environments, featuring an ultra-quiet Sleep Mode that operates at just 14.6dBA. The unit also features an integrated UV sterilisation system, designed to prevent standing water from breeding bacteria or releasing microbes back into your home.
The device first launched through a crowdfunding campaign in China, where it was priced at around $255 or £220. Xiaomi has yet to confirm whether it will be released in other countries, but it has appeared on the brand's global website, so there's a good chance it will do.
Xiaomi claims the device delivers a clean air delivery rate of up to 422m³/h and can remove 99.99% of fine particulate matter within an hour, along with airborne allergens and certain pathogens.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier with Humidification Pro joins a growing number of dual-function air care devices, including Blueair's 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify, which also combines air purification with humidity control. However, with a launch price of around £220, Xiaomi's model could prove to be a much more affordable alternative – particularly for those already invested in the brand's smart ecosystem.
