Swiss midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, currently playing for Chicago Fire in the United States, has announced his retirement from international football.

The 32-year-old player has earned an impressive 125 caps with the Swiss national team, making him the second most-capped player after his teammate Granit Xhaka, who has 130 caps, reported AFP.
