What to expect from the Xbox Games Showcase 2026?

Like every year, Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will be Xbox’s biggest digital event, full of new game announcements and updates on first-party and third-party titles.
This year’s Direct focuses on Gears of War: E-Day, the long-awaited prequel to the Coalition’s cover-based shooter. Expect a deep dive into its story and gameplay, alongside a potential release date reveal.
As for other Xbox first-party games, we got Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Minecraft Dungeons 2 scheduled to launch this year, so new trailers for those titles are likely to be shown. Other upcoming Xbox titles like Clockwork Revolution, The Elder Scrolls 6, and the enigmatic State of Decay 3 might also make an appearance.
As for third-party games, I would bet my money on Persona 4: Revival and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, both highly anticipated titles that were announced at last year’s Xbox Games Showcase.
Additionally, this year marks Persona’s 30th anniversary, and Atlus has been showing up with new game announcements and updates on the Xbox stage for a few years now. As such, there’s a slight possibility that we might get a Persona 6 announcement at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. If that happens, it would be a stark departure from how Atlus handled Persona 5‘s reveal, which was a timed PlayStation exclusive for a good six years.
