Last month, Microsoft began letting Xbox Game Pass subscribers stream games they own on Android and PC, and the feature has now been opened up to Xbox console users.
Streaming of “owned” games on console is currently in testing, though, so only a small chunk of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get access.
You need to be part of the Xbox Insiders programme, and have joined either the Alpha Skip-Ahead or Alpha rings according to the Xbox Wire blog.
Most Xbox players won’t be, but streaming is at least open to UK gamers, and to both Xbox Series and Xbox One consoles.
It saves you having to install a game to dip back into it, but you will need to own the game digitally to be able to stream. Having the physical disc is not enough to get you into this club. You also need an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – lower tier members are not included.
50 games are currently on the list for streaming:

Previously, Microsoft announced streaming of owned games on console would arrive in 2025. This is an early unlock, then, but that previous statement puts a date on when the rest of us non-Xbox-Insiders can expect to be able to use the feature.
Microsoft offers a guide in how to join the Xbox Insiders programme over at the Xbox website.
