Microsoft has revealed the first half of the Xbox Game Pass June 2023 free games lineup, including a couple of day one launches and unique indies.
Another month, another Xbox Game Pass lineup for players to dig into. The folks over at Microsoft have unveiled which Xbox and PC titles will be joining the service over the next two weeks. Truth be told it's a relatively light lineup this month, with indie titles once again holding down the fort. However there's always the chance that more titles could be announced for this month's lineup at the Xbox and Starfield Showcase on Sunday, June 11. But for now, all we have is the titles included on the Xbox Wire blog post.
Even if it's a lighter month, that doesn't mean there aren't some gems. My personal favourite of this month's selection is the hilarious indie Hypnospace Outlaw, which places you in the role of a moderator on a fictional internet provider. Anyone who pursued AOL or GeoCities in the late 90's is sure to get a dose of nostalgia and more than a few belly laughs from it (especially with the songs from internet legend Hot Dad). The game arrives on Tuesday, June 6 and isn't one to miss this month.
Launching five days earlier is the excellently titled Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer which – as it turns out – is a spinoff of Hypnospace Outlaw, taking the aesthetic and attitude from that title and mixing it with the most 90's genre imaginable: the boomer shooter. The game is a day one Xbox Game Pass release and launches on Thursday, June 1.

Keep in mind this is only the first half of the June 2023, there will be a second Xbox Game Pass June 2023 lineup announcement in the middle of June (this usually lines up with the release of the final announced title, so Tuesday, June 13 in this case)

As always these titles will be discounted for Xbox Game Pass subscribers before their removal on June 15, so if you want to keep playing any of these, now is the time to jump in.
