Despite the yellow laundry that accompanied it, Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. thought Panthers safety Xavier Woods put a perfectly fine hit on him back in Week 9. And apparently, so does the league office.
As noted by Joseph Person of The Athletic this afternoon, the NFL has decided not to fine Woods for his booming shot on Pittman Jr. from last Sunday.

Pittman Jr. said the following of the play after the game:
“I think it was a clean hit. I would rather him hit me the way he did than hit me up top. Fortunately, we did get the call and that helped us score, but really I think it was a clean hit. Sometimes you get got and he got me.”
Well, the refs got Woods on that one too, as the veteran defensive back was penalized for unnecessary roughness. The Panthers would be the next to get got, as the call gifted the Colts a new set of downs from the Carolina 12-yard line. Two plays later, quarterback Gardner Minshew found running back Jonathan Taylor for a 10-yard touchdown pass.
Indianapolis, of course, ended up with a 27-13 victory.
