Xavi makes Cristiano Ronaldo admission as Erik ten Hag has James Garner decision to make at Man United

Here are your Manchester United headlines for Sunday, May 15.

Xavi's Cristiano Ronaldo admission

Barcelona head coach Xavi has hailed United striker Cristiano Ronaldo's professionalism whilst admitting that age does not impact his thoughts when it comes to recruitment. The Spaniard, 42, is gearing up for his first summer transfer window in charge at Camp Nou.

He took charge in November and re-signed club legend Dani Alves almost immediately, despite the Brazilian now being 39. He further strengthened his arsenal in the January window, landing Adama Traore, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The latter is 32, meaning Xavi is not afraid to add experience to his ranks with players who are north of 30. Erik ten Hag's James Garner decision

Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates has described United loanee James Garner as "one of the best" set-piece specialists in the Championship. Yates made the admission ahead of Forest facing Sheffield United in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final at Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon - which Steve Cooper's side won 2-1.

Forest finished fourth in the Championship standings and will lock horns with the Blades over a two-legged tie in an attempt to try and reach Wembley. United loanee Garner, who will have aspirations of becoming a key part of Erik ten Hag's plans at Old Trafford next season, has played a huge role in Forest's success this season, producing an array of outstanding performances.
