Alexandra Burke broke down in tears as she opened up about her reason for not sharing details about her baby.
In June, Alexandra, who won ITV’s X Factor in 2008, welcomed her first baby with her footballer beau Darren Randolph, 34.
The Bad Boys singer appeared on Loose Women on Monday (August 10) as she spoke publicly for the first time about why she’s hiding her baby’s name and gender.

In an honest chat with panellists Ruth Langford, Janet Street-Porter, Katie Piper and Jane Moore, tears started to roll down Alexandra’s face as she candidly said: “I just want to protect the baby.”
As she wiped away tears, Alexandra told the ladies: “I come from X factor, and it’s a public show. I’m very grateful for the platform. It’s made me who I am today."
She added: “But in the process of me being who I am, I asked for all this [fame], but my family never.
“The impact on them is hard because you can’t keep their privacy. I want to protect the baby as much as I can."
The singer paused during her confession and became teary-eyed, to which Ruth said, “you don’t have to talk about it. I know it’s a lot.”
Alexandra plucked up the courage and continued as the Loose Ladies rallied around her to comfort her.
The Bad Boys singer continued: “It’s really that they never asked for it. I asked for it.
“So I want to protect the baby as much as I can and let the baby make its own decision.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone in the process of who I am and the life I have chosen.
“My mum would say I’m making the right choice.”
In June, Alexandra made the special announcement of her new bundle of joy and posted a picture of her little one’s feet on Instagram.
Her adorable caption read: “Welcome to the world, our little grape. We already love you more than words can say.”
It’s believed that Alexandra and Darren have been dating since May 2021, as the singer appeared to confirm their romance by sharing a cute selfie of them.
