Joe McElderry looks unrecognisable in a throwback snap shared on Instagram of when he dressed as Madonna, with her famous conical bra and blonde wig.
The 31-year-old former X Factor star brought the style of late 80s Madonna back to life with a copy of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier outfit.
Madge wore the outfit on her Blonde Ambition tour in 1989 and Joe is looking every inch her double in the photo.
With bold pink lipstick and a microphone taped to his cheek, Joe looked to give an authentic copy of the Queen of Pop.
Alongside Joe in the photo is his friend, who he has tagged, and was joining in the fancy dress night out by coming out as singer Liza Minnelli.
Joe captioned the post: 'Found this pic of me and @richardjameshunt dressed as Madonna and Liza from a few years back for my bday party. Made me smile.'
Joe was catapulted into the spotlight when he won X Factor in 2009, when he was just 18.
Appearing on Steph's Packed Lunch last week, Joe revealed that three years before he triumphed on the show, he had walked out on the process.
When he was 15, Joe said that he left X Factor when it got to the bootcamp stage of the competition because he found it all "overwhelming".
He said on the Channel 4 show: "So I would've been about 15. I got to bootcamp and on the second day I was like, 'I don't like the cameras being here.' Just overwhelming.
"I pulled a producer to one side and I was like, 'Excuse me, I'm just going to leave now, this isn't for me.' I don't think they'd ever really had that before. You could tell they were a bit like 'sorry what?'
"I just said, 'I don't feel like I'm good enough and I don't feel like I'm ready or confident enough and I left.'"
He reached number one in the UK charts with a cover of Miley Cyrus ' The Climb before heading into theatre where he played Joseph in touring production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
