The WWE is well on the road to WrestleMania and we are fast approaching the final pay-per-view stop before the big event: Elimination Chamber!
The devastating structure is one of the dangerous and awe-inspiring match types in the company's history.
Twenty years after it graced our screens for the first time, fans in Saudi Arabia will be able to watch not one but two matches taking place inside the structure on home soil for the very first time.
Universal champion Roman Reigns will face a stiff challenge after his next opponent was confirmed on SmackDown, while the blue brand's women’s champions Charlotte Flair, has a mammoth task ahead of her at WrestleMania in April.
Reigns vs Goldberg to take place in Jeddah!
Fans will remember Roman Reigns was scheduled to challenge Goldberg for the Universal title at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.
However, Reigns was abruptly removed from the match and replaced with Braun Strowman, who went on to defeat the WWE Hall of Famer.
In the two years since, the pair’s path never crossed, until this past Friday night on SmackDown.
Reigns opened the show and was once again accompanied by his special counsel Paul Heyman after their plan to screw Brock Lesnar worked a treat.
Heyman, was full of praise for the Tribal Chief and proceeded to berate the Beast Incarnate after interference from Reigns cost Lesnar his WWE title at the Royal Rumble.
However, when Reigns raised his title in the air and prepared to bask in the acknowledgement of the Oklahoma crowd, a familiar superstar’s music hit.
Out came Goldberg who said he acknowledges Reigns as “next victim”, before yelling his famous line of “You’re next!”
The match was then made official the following day, and the dream match will finally take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Blink and you’ll miss it!
Ronda Rousey chooses Charlotte Flair as WrestleMania opponent
After announcing she would decide who her WrestleMania opponent will be on Friday night SmackDown, Ronda Rousey appeared on the blue brand for the first time ever and had a message for the champion Charlotte Flair.
Charlotte, who is due to defend her title against Naomi this coming Friday, had some choice words for Ronda, claiming she would be “worried” for the former UFC champion if she opted to fight her.
She pleaded with her to choose Raw women’s champion Becky Lynch, claiming she would be the “easier route.”
Rousey responded in kind and told Charlotte she intends to teach her daughter the “family business of kicking a**, and owes her an “a** beating.”
She all but confirmed her choice of WrestleMania opponent when she glared at Charlotte and said: I’ll see you at WrestleMana b***h.”
Not to be outdone, Charlotte delivered a savage line that tipped Rousey over the edge.
“This title is my baby and she’s prettier than yours,” she snarled before sporting a huge grin.
Rousey proceeded to attack official Sonya Deville after she jumped on her back, and locked in her signature armbar, leaving her in agony.
Women’s Elimination Chamber mystery entrant
While Bobby Lashley is due to defend the WWE title inside the Elimination Chamber against Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Austin Theory and Riddle, the women will also compete inside the structure.
Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, Nikki ASH, Rhea Ripley and Doudrop will step inside the unforgiving structure to compete for an opportunity to face Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s title at WrestleMania.
However, only five names have been announced for the match so far, meaning there is one spot still to be filled.
The final entrant into this match has yet to be confirmed, and the WWE Universe are keen to find out who it will be.
Who do you think will take the final spot in the women’s Elimination Chamber match?
