WWE are just three days away from the first ever Elimination Chamber event to take place in Saudi Arabia.
It is set to be a clash of generations, as the likes of Lita and Goldberg, two legendary grapplers who were prominent figures in wrestling's most successful period of the late 1990s and early 2000s, aim to add another chapter to their glittering careers.
They will challenge two of the biggest stars of today's generation, Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns, who will be desperate to hold on to their championships.
In today's column we hear from Bianca Belair who is gearing up for her first Elimination Chamber match, while Alexa Bliss will also be preparing for the match, after being confirmed as the final entrant.
Alexa Bliss returns to Raw and is final entrant in Elimination Chamber
Her return has been hyped for weeks and now Alexa Bliss is set to return to the ring in a big way.
Following a series of vignettes that began airing on Raw last month, the troubled Bliss was deemed cured by her therapist on the red brand’s latest episode on Monday night.
The Goddess then declared herself as the final participant in the women's Elimination Chamber bout in a voiceover.
She will compete in one of WWE’s most brutal matches against Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Nikki ASH, Liv Morgan and Doudrop.
The winner will head to WrestleMania to challenge the Raw Women’s champion.
Bliss has not wrestled since September 2021, when she lost a championship match to Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules.
Following the confirmation of her participation in the match, Bliss tweeted: “So tell me. Anyone else have Saturday plans??? #WWEChambe.r”
She certainly does now and Bliss will enter the match as the winner of the first ever women’s chamber match in 2018.
Bianca Belair comments on competing in her first Elimination Chamber match
The EST of WWE has been on a roll since winning last year’s Royal Rumble match.
Bianca Belair went on to create a historic WrestleMania moment with Sasha Banks and captured the SmackDown women’s title for the first time.
She would produce some stellar matches with the likes of Becky Lynch and Doudrop in the latter half of 2021, and now she has her sights on competing in another marquee match at the Showcase of the Immortals.
As mentioned previously she will fight for an opportunity to face either Becky Lynch or Lita at the AT&T Stadium in April inside the Elimination Chamber this Saturday.
With just three days until she steps inside the structure for the very first time, Belair is looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m feeling very confident heading into the Elimination Chamber, I feel like I’ve built up a lot of momentum with a couple of wins on Raw against Zelina Vega, Carmella and Nikki A.S.H,” she told WWE UK.
“It's going to be tough going up against Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H., Doudrop and Liv Morgan though.
“Liv has the most experience going into the Elimination Chamber, but nobody wants this more than me.”
Should she emerge victorious, it is likely Belair would face the winner of the title match between Becky Lynch and WWE legend Lita at the Saudi Arabia event.
After lengthy lay-off following the birth of her baby, Lynch returned at SummerSlam last August and shocked the world after defeating the EST in just 26 seconds to take her championship.
Since then, Belair has had opportunities to win the gold back, but Lynch has found a way to bend the rules and keep the former champion at bay.
As a result, Belair hopes Lynch can defeat the returning Lita, so she can have the chance to rip the Irishwoman’s precious title from her clutches.
“I personally would love for it to be against Becky so I can redeem myself, but we’ll have to see what happens with Becky vs Lita," Belair continued.
“I want Becky to win! Only because I want to be the person to take the Title off of her at WrestleMania.
“It would be a cool moment to see Lita as champion again, reaping the benefits of all the work she’s sewn for the women’s division.
“I think she has a great chance, but I will be upset if I’m not the one that gets the chance to take the Title off of Becky!”
Elimination Chamber is an event you do not ant to miss and good news for UK fans, it starts at 5pm and will be streamed live on the WWE Network on Saturday February 19.
