WWE has announced its first UK full-scale stadium event in 30 years, and it's going to be hosted in Cardiff.
After months of speculation that the UK would be getting their first pay-per-view since Wembley hosted Summerslam '92, WWE confirmed this morning that the city's Principality Stadium will be playing host to the much-anticipated event on Saturday, September 3.
The firm has not released any more information regarding the event name or when tickets will go on sale, saying only that they will be 'available soon'.

The deal is a massive coup for both the stadium and Cardiff as a international sports host although undoubtedly a blow for Wembley which was reportedly also on a shortlist of options. John Porco, WWE Senior Vice President for Live Events said: "Principality Stadium is the perfect place for a major event, hosting our amazing fans from Wales, throughout all of Europe, and around the world.
“The weekend will be filled with a variety of WWE experiences that we believe will leave a lasting memory, on par with SummerSlam at Wembley Stadium in 1992.”
Welsh Government Minister for Economy Vaughan Gething said the deal was a big opportunity to showcase Wales on the international stage: “Wales will provide an iconic location for WWE’s return to the UK after 30 years and showcase our country to a global audience of millions, including extended reach in the USA.
“This is set to be the perfect addition to a huge year of sport, entertainment and culture in Wales that will attract people from across the globe to experience what our country has to offer.”
The news comes off the back of a thrilling two-night Wrestlemania weekend, which saw Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Universal and WWE Championships, Bianca Belair beat Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's Championship, the return of Cody Rhodes to take on Seth Rollins, and major appearances from Stone Cold Steve Austin on both nights.
Meanwhile, UK-based WWE fans who can't wait to see their favourite superstars live in September can still get tickets for the two post-Wrestlemania UK live shows, in Newcastle on April 28 and the O2 in London on April 29. Among the superstars confirmed for the tour are Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura.
