New Delhi: After registering a 295 runs victory over Australia in the first Border-Gavaskar Test in Perth, India jumped to the top spot in World Test Championship (WTC) standings with 61.11 percentage of points won.
Aus slipps to 2nd spot
Now, Australia slipped to the second position, with 57.69 percentage of points, follwed by Sri Lanka (55.56 PCT) and New Zealand (54.55 PCT).
The Indian team has won 9 out of 15 test matches in the current cycle, while the team has faced defeat in 5. At the same time, one match was also ended in a draw.
How India can qualify for final?
Now, India required three wins from the remaining four matches in the ongoing five-match series against Australia to secure a spot in the WTC final. The second Test will be played from December 6 to 10.

In reply to the 534 run target set by India, Australia were bowled out for 238 in the second innings, giving India a memorable victory of 295 runs. This victory is important for Team India because it is India's biggest Test win in Australia. Earlier, India registered 222 runs victory in the Melbourne Test match in 1977.
